The budding process starts with combining rootstock – the base of an existing lemon tree – with a bud from a seedless lemon tree.

First, carefully remove a bud from a seedless lemon tree.

Insert the bud inside the rootstock of a seed-bearing lemon tree and tightly cover it.

The bud and rootstock merge into the base of what will soon become a new seedless lemon tree.

And voilà! A healthy, new seedless lemon tree is born.
